Practicing for over 30 years and board certified in workers’ compensation since 1990, Glen Wieland was destined to be a lawyer. Born and raised in Orlando, FL., Glen was strongly influenced by his father, who was one of the original workers’ comp lawyers in Central Florida before he sat as a judge for 23 years. Glen completed his undergraduate studies at Presbyterian College in South Carolina before receiving his law degree from The Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. He returned to Orlando in 1982 and began practicing law at Walker & Buckmaster, where he remained for five years. He then left to partner with another attorney for more than 10 years before forming Wieland, Hilado & DeLattre. As one of three attorneys, Wieland prefers the personal interaction between attorneys that can be found only in a firm of this size.
Highlights of Glen’s career include serving as president of the Florida Workers’ Advocates, a statewide organization of trial attorneys who specialize in workers’ compensation, as well as having a specialty in the areas of workers’ compensation, personal injury, automobile negligence, insurance disputes, wrongful death, toxic torts and Social Security disability. He is admitted to practice before the Middle Court of Florida.
Highly regarded among his peers, Glen was selected by his peers to be included as a member of The Best Lawyers in America. He has spoken on behalf of injured workers at the National Council of Insurance Legislators’ national meetings. He has also been recognized by Orlando Magazine as one of Orlando’s Best Attorneys and was awarded an AV rating from attorney review service, Martindale-Hubbell; their highest rating. Glen is also proud to belong to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, devoted only to trial lawyers who have achieved a settlement or verdict of a million dollars or more.
Outside of the firm, Glen has a strong passion for community service influenced by his mother, who was personally recognized by President George W. Bush for having spent more than 50 years in continuous volunteer work for the community. Glen is a former Chairman and Trustee for the Orlando Area Trust for the Homeless, Chancellor of Anglican Diocese of the East and Anglican Province of America. He is also happily married to Kennie Wieland and has two children, Billy and David, who are both currently practicing law.

I want to say, my world has changed and my family wants to thank you for all of your hard work on my personal injury case. I sometimes wonder, if I just stayed home that day and just went to help volunteer to teach kids play football that I would have my hand at full strength and wound’t be dealing with this personal injury. I can’t look back, but I can say that I am feeling stronger and healthier each day.

Words cannot express the professionalism you and your staff had given us in our time of need. I’m a retired law enforcement officer who was injured in the line of duty. I’m very pleased with the performance, support, professionalism and determination throughout my case. Everyone was quick to respond to my questions, available during times that most would consider after hours and always patient in explaining the details and developments of my case.
